This website (mboiman.github.io) is a personal CV site with an optional AI chat assistant. Personal data is processed only to the minimal extent described below. There is no tracking, no advertising and no analytics cookies.
1. Controller
Michael BoimanZum Gottschalkhof 2
60594 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Email: mboiman@gmail.com
2. Visiting the website (hosting)
The site is served as a static page via GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit, GitHub processes technically necessary access data (including IP address, date and time, the resource requested, amount of data transferred, browser type) in order to deliver the page and keep operation secure and stable. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, functional provision).
3. AI chat assistant
The site offers an optional chat assistant. Use is voluntary — your input is only processed if you send a message yourself.
- Processing of messages: Your input is sent to the agent endpoint mboiman.bks-lab.com and forwarded to the AI service Anthropic (Anthropic PBC, San Francisco, USA — "Claude") to generate a reply. Transport runs through Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA), which processes technical connection data (including IP address) to protect the service against abuse and overload.
- Storage of the conversation: We do not store the conversation. The conversation history is held only transiently in memory for the duration of the session and is lost on restart or inactivity. Our operational logs record at most the length of a message, never its content.
- Local browser storage: To operate the chat, a technical session identifier is stored in your browser's local storage so a conversation can continue across a page reload. This storage is technically necessary (§ 25(2) no. 2 TTDSG) and is not used for tracking. No analytics or advertising cookies are set.
- Contact and appointment requests: Only if you actively make a request and provide details such as your name and email or phone number are these stored in order to process your request.
The legal basis for operating the chat is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering questions about me and my work); for transmitting contact details as part of a request, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual steps) or Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent by sending).
Note: Please do not enter personal, confidential or special categories of personal data (e.g. health, religious or political data) into the chat.
4. Recipients and transfers to third countries
Within the scope described, data is transferred to the following services based in the USA: GitHub (hosting), Cloudflare (transport and protection of the chat) and Anthropic (AI responses). Transfer takes place on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (where the respective company is certified) or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR. No data is passed on to any other third parties.
5. Retention period
- Chat history: transient, not stored permanently (see section 3).
- Contact and appointment requests: until your request has been conclusively handled; deleted thereafter unless statutory retention obligations apply.
- Server access data from hosting: as determined by GitHub.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). You may withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). An informal message to mboiman@gmail.com is sufficient.
7. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority — e.g. the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Postfach 3163, 65021 Wiesbaden, Germany.
8. Changes
This privacy policy will be updated whenever the service or the legal framework changes.
